Despite being on a city-made bicycle lane, he was not protected from the driver crashing into him. Residents of Phoenix know that his death could have been prevented. They started a petition asking for the city to create better protections for bikers. They’re asking for bike lanes that are protected by guard posts, not just painted on the street. City council races might not catch the attention of many Los Angelenos, but perhaps they should. We welcome back veteran journalist Jerry Sullivan, who says if voters were more concerned, they could put a stop to the corruption among local councils. In Los Angeles alone, there are 15 city councils, and low election turnouts have made it easier to land a seat. However, with little transparency, some city councils lack accountability and have become rife with corruption. If this continues, it could stop L.A. from becoming one of the best cities in the country.

June 27, 2021 - Given the unprecedented drought that California is facing, the idea that Nestlé, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and other water bottlers are tapping California's scarce water supply to sell, is unconscionable.
California's agricultural industry raises over a third of the country's vegetables, and two-thirds of the country's fruits and nuts. California is the most populous state in the Union. California suffers from devastating wildfires every year. Yet none of this concerns Nestlé, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and other water bottlers; who put their needs for profit over the needs of the state of California and its residents.
