Why LA Can’t Solve Its Homelessness Problem Dec 30, 2020
City council races might not catch the attention of many Los Angelenos, but perhaps they should. We welcome back veteran journalist Jerry Sullivan, who says if voters were more concerned, they could put a stop to the corruption among local councils. In Los Angeles alone, there are 15 city councils, and low election turnouts have made it easier to land a seat. However, with little transparency, some city councils lack accountability and have become rife with corruption. If this continues, it could stop L.A. from becoming one of the best cities in the country.

California's agricultural industry raises over a third of the country's vegetables, and two-thirds of the country's fruits and nuts. California is the most populous state in the Union. California suffers from devastating wildfires every year. Yet none of this concerns Nestlé, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and other water bottlers; who put their needs for profit over the needs of the state of California and its residents.
Elvis Summers Builds Tiny Homes for the Homeless, Los Angeles Mayor Obstructs
A few weeks ago, I talked about Elvis Summers and his work building tiny homes for the homeless in Los Angeles. Today I sat down with him to discuss his project. It shouldn’t surprise you to learn his biggest obstacle is corruption that starts at the top of the local government. In fact, he’s even had to wear a bulletproof vest on the job! Once again, we have living proof that the state is never a good solution to any problem. Government officials will never care about solving homelessness as long as they can use it as an electoral platform and a source of funding.
